Springfield Butchers

Location: Marion, SA
Completion date: 2016
Client: Springfield Butchers
Designer: Adam Johnson Design

A conscious departure from the clinical white and stainless steel we’re so used to seeing in butcher stores, the redesigned Springfield Butcher store makes use of a more 'agricultural' palette — featuring materials like quarry face sandstone, reclaimed spotted gum, vintage Polish industrial lighting and black leather. Large ‘butcher’ signage buzzed down on a five-axis CNC router and a lovingly made cast aluminium wall sign give the space prominence in a busy retail environment, while still accommodating the critical safety requirements of the production-centric back-of-house.
